Merits
- Harry Seifert and Axel Frey have implemented a strategic realignment of the medium-sized family-owned company in recent years under the motto "Full speed into the future", focusing on employees, digitization, and sustainable growth. The executive duo has caused a sensation first and foremost with its "employees first" philosophy. This impetus underscores the importance of the industry and provides orientation, especially for the medium-sized logistics sector.
- The realignment is evident in numerous details throughout the entire company. At the multi-user logistics center, which opened in late 2022 at the Ulm North exit of the A8 autobahn, there is an exceptionally stylish office world offering almost homely working and lounge areas, combined with a flexible working concept including home office, flexitime and part-time models as well as numerous opportunities for further qualification. A state-of-the-art gym and the company's restaurant, "Franzl," named in honor of the firm's founder, Franz Xaver Seifert, cater to the well-being of employees. In addition, there is a wide range of services that make life easier for employees.
- Digitization plays a central role in the transformation process. Starting with inventory drones and wearables to robotics and additive manufacturing with 3D printers, everything is focused on increasing performance through innovation. Seifert Logistics Group also invests in Start-ups and collaborations to remain at the forefront of technology, launches pilot projects and builds teams to stay up-to-date.
- In the area of sustainability targets, reducing emissions is high on the agenda. EElectric trucks are being tested and a photovoltaic system of around 40,000 square meters is being built on the roof of the new logistics center in Ulm, which will generate 5.5 MWp of electricity, enough to supply all the company's own sites. Between 2020 and 2022, the Group nearly halved its emissions from electricity consumption from 1907 tons of CO2.
- Founded in 1947, Seifert Logistics Group, headquartered in Ulm, Germany, is one of the leading logistics service providers in Germany with around 4000 employees. Throughout Europe, the family-owned company implements procurement, production and distribution solutions for the automotive, paper, chemical, building materials, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries. The Group has grown steadily, with the contract logistics sector making a significant contribution.
- The current key figures are reflecting the success of the transformation process. Between 2021 and 2023, the number of employees has increased by 1500 to a total of 4000. In 2020, the company already achieved the second-highest sales in its history, and in 2023 sales will increase by a further 25 percent to a record 330 million euros. contract logistics is a major contributor to the ongoing growth here. Even the forwarding and transport sector, which has faced particular challenges as a result of the Ukraine war, the associated fuel price problems and the shortage of drivers, is making significant gains.
